Leslie McAllister is a multidisciplinary artist originally from Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, who now lives and works between the US and Europe. Her work incorporates elements of painting, installation, sound, and performance. As a painter, she moves between the figurative, as in her portrait projects, and the abstract, as in her recent landscape series, Plein Air Abstracts. Another recurring series is her ongoing street art project, Lost Art, for which she finds discarded objects in the street, paints street scenes onto them, then returns them to
where they were found, along with her contact information. She also creates sound and performance works under the stage name Lesteria, combining field recorded sounds with multiple layers of her own voice. She often merges her practices to generate physical installations that also feature sonic and performative components.
