Opening Reception: Friday, August 19, 7:00 to 9:00PM
Peter Salmon has lived in Henryville, PA for 50 years, painting the world around him, at home and on the road. Here in the Poconos, his subjects include wildlife, landscapes, his wife Linda’s garden, and grandchildren at the beach. Summer visits to his native Vermont are reflected in paintings of cows, mountains, and the old marble quarry swimming hole in Dorset. Other recurring themes are the landscape and wildlife of the Tetons in Wyoming and city scenes reflecting his years in Boston and New York.
A graduate of Middlebury College and Harvard University, Salmon studied art at The Brooklyn Museum and Boston University. He has shown his work in many solo exhibitions, including East Stroudsburg and Kutztown Universities, The Everhart and Dutot Museums, the Monroe County Court House and the Conservation District, the Southern Vermont Art Center, Dorset Theatre Festival and Middlebury College. His work is represented in many public and private collections.
The museum and gallery
are open Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
